About Us
Karsten Lee’s love for wood and woodworking dates back to the year 1976, even though he pursued an Engineering career. He continuously improved his skills, while building unique custom furniture for many years. His projects generally start with creative design ideas first. Then he figures out how it can be done. Due to his native German engineering mind, no design is to complex or difficult to build, but is rather a matter of the right tooling and precision. Often times it requires custom tooling which he builds himself.
Karsten Lee prefers to handpick the lumber based on projects and for stock. He usually stocks a large quantity of lumber to make sure the wood is in equilibrium in a fully climate controlled shop. From processing to the final product, everything is done in-house. This process guarantees the highest quality and accuracy.
Beginning of 2016 he added a Lathe to the machine park, with the idea to use it for certain pieces on custom furniture, but also to start building bowls and vases in segmented techniques. His products set them self apart from most others, because the bowls are usually large to very large and always thin walled. To verify if the market is interested in large thin walled bowls and vases he entered the products into Juried Judged Art shows all over Texas and his bowls placed in most of them. But most important to him is that people love his designs and work, leading to the result that products sell faster then he can build them.
